      • One of the many things I’ve discovered over the years is that you never know when or what you’ll be inspired by and how it will influence your own work. I recently came across a wonderfully talented shop, particularly this fabric design and just fell in love with all the warm Spring peaches and oranges mixed with a hint of cool teal tones. I liked it so much I incorporated the concept into new Mother’s Day card designs, adding my own twist to make it truly unique.

A mix of peaches and orangey golds are so fresh for Spring, and a flourish in blue balances the colors in this typographic treatment: “to the greatest most awesome mom of all time”. Eco-friendly speckled paper gives it a little something extra, too!

I also created a reverse of tones in light magenta and periwinkle with a hint of mustard yellow. Reminds me of a sweet field of lavender flowers.

      • With a snowstorm continuing to coat the roads and sidewalks here in NY just yesterday, it might seem surprising that it’s actually the first day of Spring today! To celebrate, I’m offering 15% off all purchases of $10 or more in my shop for a limited time! (Use Code: SPRING15)

And as promised, I’ve got a few pictures to share of one of my new additions, a bonsai jade plant! It’s probably one of the cutest little plants I’ve ever seen, it literally looks like a miniature tree! I received it as a gift for Valentine’s Day, but if you’d like to purchase one for yourself you can find it right here on Amazon.

Straight out of the box it was in awesome condition, and a few days later it even started growing new leaves — you can see some of the tiny ones, they’re light green.

Mine didn’t come in a blue pot, but I was kind of happy to find it was white since white pretty much goes with everything! Instead of buying an official bonsai humidity drip tray I improvised and purchased a little barbar tray for it from IKEA and filled it with some polished pebbles aquarium gravel from PetSmart. So cute!

I’ll be sharing pics of my terrarium soon, so stay tuned! And I’m still working on gathering seeds for my indoor vegetable garden…yikes! Happy Spring, everyone!

      • It has been way too long since my last post, yikes! Doesn’t time just seem to move much faster as you get older? I hope everyone has had a great start to their New Year as we are officially 1 week away from the start of Spring!

Speaking of Spring, for the last month or so I’ve been kicking around the idea of creating my very own (and very small) indoor vegetable garden in our kitchen window. I’ve got the pots and the soil, now I just need to find the seeds to make it happen. I didn’t have much luck finding any “miniature” varieties at Home Depot, and unless I can check out a few nurseries soon I think my next move is to buy some online — and quickly.

My office has been missing a little plant life as well, so I now have two new additions…one of which is a cute little terrarium. :) Pics to come soon!

I’m also working on new designs I’ll be sharing with you in the next few weeks and adding to my shop, so check back to see what I’ve been up to!

        Happy March everyone!

      • Inspired by one of my favorite quotes, I have a new mini journal to share today! Also, Black Friday sale of 15% off all mini journals will continue through Black Friday weekend into Cyber Monday! :)

This new mini journal features the quote “A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere” by Joyce A. Myers. Love this quote! In colors of brown, orange yellow, coral, purple, hot pink and teal, pencils alternate up and down, with the quote on the hot pink pencil in black with highlight. Printed on 100% recycled & sustainable speckled stock, and (like all my mini journals!) comes with a stamped mini pencil.

This mini journal, as well as 20 additional designs, is now available in my shop and can be purchased here. Happy Black Friday/ Cyber Monday!
